I certainly can't remember the name of this game, but I can see how children would like to get up and chase each other in a circle. But what I remember is something that gave us all a good laugh and how good of a sport Gladys was when she had a small unfortunate accident. Small accidents will always happen in games when children play them and it happened with our group as well. It was fun to see all of us run around chasing each other with the other game we played. It was nice to laugh and have fun like a little kid again.
This game here is one I found that I thought would be fun to play and also to make a mess. The name of the game is Colorina. Colorina, means having to do with red, which is why the directions said to use red beans. The idea of the game is to take a certain amount of beans and toss them towards a hole in the ground (if you play outside) or a bowl if you play inside. The object is to get as many beans into the hole or bowl as possible. Then you take the beans that landed in the hole or bowl put them back in your hand and with a quick jerk you toss the beans up in the air and see how many you can get to land on the top of your hand. Then with another quick jerk of the hand you see how many you can get to land in the palm of your hand. Whoever has the most at the end wins. It was a fun game to play, plus it was fun to make a mess on the floor. This game comes from Mexico and also the US, but I can honestly say I never heard of it before this class. This could be a fun game to play with our students, but I have a feeling it will cause a big mess.
